Malaysian Unmanned Aerial Vehicle to be Tested


'The first Malaysian made prototype of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is expected to be ready in three months time, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

"In three months time we will have a full scale model to be tested and only after the test we will decide whether to purchase it.

"If the UAV meets the specifications especially in its performance, including its onboard cameras and so on, we can place orders for the locally made UAVs for the Malaysian Armed Forces," he told reporters after chairing the Malaysian Defence Industry Council (MIPM) meeting at the Motor Teknologi dan Industri Sdn Bhd here, Thursday.'
