An Unmanned System for Every Occasion


'At least 20 different types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are currently being developed by the U.S. military. Each program may be fine individually, but in sum might some of them represent a duplication of effort? At a hearing of the House Armed Service Committee's Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee on the Department of Defense (DoD) FY07 budget request for UAVs and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities, the subcommittee's chairman, Rep. Curt Weldon (R-PA), expressed doubt.'
