Air Guard flies first UAV from Fargo


"The North Dakota Air National Guard's 119th Wing has flown its first mission from Fargo using an unmanned aircraft system.

National Guard officials said Monday the mission, flown overseas late last week, is a milestone in the 119th Wing's transition away from fighter jets.

“It's very significant, and my reason for saying that is for 60 years we were a fighter squadron and a fighter plane wing,” said Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, the North Dakota National Guard's adjutant general."
