SEO and blog linking
Wayne Hurlbert, over at ProBlogger, explores the connections between search engines and blog ranking and concludes that links are weighed differently by spyders and that these link weightings help determine the listing rank of the underlying blog.
Okay, well ProBlogger is blogger centric. Fair enough. But if I were going to talk about SEO and blogging my message would focus on something else:
(1) To get your new business site listed on Google quickly, start a blog on Google's Blogger.
(2) Have the blog link to your business website.
(3) When the Google spyder comes to index your blog contents, it will also index your website link.
Voila. But how long does this take? About four months ago, I noticed it was taking 3-4 weeks. I'm sure it varies based on the number of blogs created on Blogger. Treat it as a sure thing, nevertheless.
Hey, believe it or not, I posted a useful tip! Or does everyone already know/do this?
