Wow! Darren's plane has probably barely landed and there are already a number of great posts!
This evening, as I was reviewing my blog stats—being the narcissistic guy I am—I came across a link from Google for a search of
“blog title” +examples
That’s a pretty specific and sophisticated search. Although most people (probably) know to put quotes around certain words if they should appear together, fewer know to add a "+" before a word to require it.
It got me thinking: depending on your line of work your prospects may be Internet experts or newbies. Often, as part of a Discovery phase, we'll work up a "profile" on a client's perfect or most likely prospect. Gender, age, education, sometimes even "comfort with technology."
However, I don't know that we ever wrote up anything on "search engine sophistication."
Focusing on your target audience, does your copy talk down to them, go right over their heads, or is it a good match?
Where your copy leads, your search results—and traffic—are sure to follow.
