Jill Whalen's Take on Google's Patent Application

Another great newsletter from Jill Whalen of HighRankings.com. The first article is on Google's Patent Implications.

There's about 100 posts worth for blogging purposes here, but I recommend your read the entire High Rankings Advisor newsletter.

One interesting item was that "Google might use traffic data from sites when determining how to rank them." They accomplish this from the Google Toolbar that so many people have installed on their browsers. Unfortunately, this is only available for Windows users using IE! That means us Mac users are being under-represented. (You think we'd be used to this by now.)

However, since Microsoft is aiming to unseat Google at the top of the search hill, why doesn't Google create a Firefox toolbar that's cross-platform. Throw us a bone!
