Samsung Digimax V6

samsung_digimax_v6.jpg Photography Blog's Norwegian is better than mine because he's able to discern that Norway's DigIT magazine is announcing a new Samsung 6 megapixel digital camera called the Samsung Digimax V6. Mark writes:

'Samsung have unveiled a new 6 megapixel digital camera, the Digimax V6. The Norwegian digital camera website DigIT seems to have exclusive news about the new model at the moment. As far as I can make out, the V6 will have a 1/1.8" CCD, a 38-114 mm optical zoom lens and will be available in mid-September.'

Update - for more information on this camera check out the following Press Release from Samsung Announcing the V6:

Samsung Press Release
SAMSUNG INTRODUCES THE V6, ITS MOST POWERFUL DIGITAL CAMERA TO DATE

Building on previous success, Samsung Cameras introduces its most powerful camera ever to the acclaimed V range, the V6.

Developed with the more demanding photographer in mind, where high definition shooting is required, it features 6 million megapixels in a stylish aluminum design and is set to retail at a well under £300.

The Samsung Digimax V6 provides more enhanced manual photograph functions for advanced users who expect true professional quality photography. Three kinds of manual creative adjustments are available: Aperture priority, Shutter priority, and Manual adjustment.  The manual focus adjustment function allows fine focusing and total user control.

The exclusive 1400mAh Li-ion battery, enables users to take up to 380 images in succession. This feature provides unlimited ability for advanced users who want to take many pictures at once.

Home movie fans will enjoy the capability to shoot movies at up to 30 frames per second of VGA quality (640_480). This allows stored movies to be played on general TVs, without any deterioration of the image.  Users can also capture a still picture from movie clips.

Further V6 features include:

3x Optical and 4x Digital Zoom using a world superior Schneider Kreuznach lens for sharper pictures (Focal length of 38mm ~114mm based on a 35mm film camera standards)

Unique technology enables the use of 9 types of power so you can keep shooting for longer

The Digimax V6 features comfortable, easy-to-read, and quick menu controls. New features include a menu display in 256 colours and the Move & Set function that allows users to rapidly set the menus to their own personal requirements.

With 9 scene modes (Portrait/Children/Landscape, Close up/Sunset/Dawn/Backlight /Fireworks/Beach/Snow), users can easily produce better pictures by determining the right mode for each individual situation.

The PictBridge function of the Digimax V6 allows images taken by the camera to be directly printed without PCs.  This means users can immediately get clear 6 Mega-pixel pictures, by directly connecting the camera to a printer supporting the PictBridge printing standard.

Users can set any image they want on the default screen of the camera after adjusting the image size. As well as basic video recording, the Digimax V6 supports additional functions such as voice recording with video, solo voice recording, voice memo to add voices to general pictures, and One-Touch playback.

The V6 provides multiple language support including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Dutch and more. It comes equipped with a full complement of accessories, including a stylish carrying case, USB cable, NTSC/PAL video cable, software driver CD-ROM and a wrist strap.
