PhotographyBlog reports that the Olympus E1 is receiving critical acclaim as one of the best Digital SLRs going around at the moment.

One reviewer gave it a 95% rating - another 4.5 stars.
Olympus E1 Specifications:
'5.5 megapixels (effective), no lens included, auto and manual focus, program and manual exposure, JPEG, TIFF, and RAW file format, ISO range 100-3200, proprietary Lithium-Ion battery.' Source
PC Mag give the Olympus E1 a 5 star rating and compliment it by saying 'The Olympus E-1 is the most expensive camera in our roundup, but it's also the most capable, the best built, and the most ahead of its time.' They rate it as Editors choice in the professional category and also hint that a consumer class variant of the E1 is likely to be released shortly.
DC Reviews writes - 'The E-1, which is the central part of the new system, is a very good camera indeed. Although it does not offer the resolution of other professional cameras, or the AF speed required for professional sports photography, it is designed and built extremely well and certainly has that professional feel to it. '
Update: as of 18 January 2004 the Olympus E1 is the most searched for digital camera on this site - Olympus must be doing something right.
Olympus have released firmware updates for the E1.
