Leaf Aptus 75 and Aptus 65

Leaf News Release

Leaf America is pleased to announce the next generation of Leaf digital camera backs for professional photographers: Leaf Aptus 75 and Leaf Aptus 65.

These two new models offer superior image quality, flexibility and control. The 6×7cm LCD touch screen provides complete control over the image capture process. From pre-shoot setups to image capture, gray balancing and saving files to managing the data after the shoot, the improved workflow allows photographers to work the way they want, the Leaf Aptus 75 and Leaf Aptus 65 adapt to their needs.

The Leaf Aptus 75 offers 6726 x 5040 pixels, resulting in file size of approximately 200MB (16-bit), and the Leaf Aptus 65 includes 6144 x 4622 pixels, resulting in file size of 160 MB (16-bit). File storage options include uncompressed raw files and a new completely lossless compression which reduces the size of the RAW files by half. To accommodate these new larger files, Leaf is also introducing a new Leaf Digital Magazine with a 30GB capacity to provide longer shooting sessions. The new Leaf Aptus backs also feature an extended ISO range from 50-800.

“Leaf has always strived to produce the finest image quality possible,”stated Mark Rezzonico, Vice President of Leaf America. “These latest innovations reconfirm Leaf as a leader in the digital imaging field. Every aspect of the Leaf Aptus family is designed around the photographers needs, providing more than just large files. The seamless integration into existing camera platforms, the simple friendly graphic interface and the attention to detail in processing the RAW files all add up to provide the very best file and experience available today.”

The Leaf Aptus 75 and Leaf Aptus 65 backs will be available with a 3-year warranty option. Upgrade and Trade-In programs ensure that yesterday’s digital investment does not become obsolete.

The Leaf Aptus 75 will be introduced at PhotoPlus Expo on October 20, 2005, in New York City and will be available through authorized Leaf dealers in November. The Leaf Aptus 65 will be available in Q1 2006.
