The Kyocera Finecam SL400R is a 4MP version of the previously released SL300R.
PC Mag reviews the Kyocera Finecam SL400R and writes - 'The SL400R scored a solid 2.77-second boot time and 2.34-seconds recycle time. We are less impressed, however, with the camera's resolution test results: The 4MP SL400R scored the same 1,050 lines of resolution as its 3.2MP predecessor. What was average for a 3.2MP camera is low for a 4MP model. And the SL400R actually scored worse than the SL300R for transition pixel ratio: 3.0 percent versus 2.5 percent (lower is better).'
CNET reviews the Kyocera Finecam SL400R and gives it a rating of 7.6 (good).

With RTUNE, the image is captured from the CCD and is already being processed through the parallel processing operations that eliminate typical buffer constraints. As you are taking the pictures, you can simultaneously view the captured images in real time with no capture performance degradation.
The paralleled processor, with dedicated hardware blocks, simultaneously captures, processes and writes the resulting images to the High Speed SD card. This enables non-stop capture, eliminating bottlenecks and functioning at an amazing 10 - 12 times faster than the competition.
