The Fuji Finepix S7000 has been out for a while now. I've had a play with it and thought it was pretty decent.
The Fujifilm Finepix S7000 has a 6 megapixel sensor. It also has a good macro mode (shooting down to 1cm and has a manual focus ring on the barrel. Its also got USB 2.0 and a good flash.
Photography Blog rates the S7000 highly writing - 'Overall, the FinePix S7000 Zoom is a worthy successor to its predecessor, the popular 3 megapixel FinePix S602 Pro Zoom, offering great handling and picture quality in a very well-built body. Highly recommended!'
PC Magazine reviewd the S7000 and gave it a rating of 4 stars saying: 'The Fujifilm FinePix S7000 Zoom challenges models from Canon and Nikon for serious photographers' attention with a model that has eye-level, through-the-lens (TTL) viewing, extensive controls, and very good to excellent image quality.'

'About Photography' has a review of the Fujifilm Finepix S7000 and writes 'I am thoroughly impressed with the image quality this digital camera produces. The 6 megapixel images are some of the sharpest I have seen in a compact camera. According to the literature, this digital camera produces 12 megapixel recorded images, though it has a 6 effective megapixel CCD, due to the design of the CCD.'
Byte Sector reviews the Fujifilm S7000 and writes 'Being the first camera I have taken a look at from FujiFilm I am greatly impressed. It is very different from other brands in terms of user navigation and to me seems very easy to use. The image results are good but not the very best when compared to other digital cameras in the same price range. I have seen better colour output and sharper results from various cameras and brands however the S7000 definitely tops my list for ease of use. It is also very good for higher resolution photos, large scale images are captured without high levels of noise and with detail, they are slightly fuzzy but when put in print can be wonderful. This is a great camera for any type of user and is easy to get used to; list priced at $799 USD (approx. $1060 CND) it is a bit expensive but a great buy if you want to take high resolution images.'
Digital Camera Info reviews the Fujifilm Finepix S7000 and writes - 'The Fuji FinePix S7000 is a chameleon of sorts and can mold itself into (almost) anything you want it to be. Falling into the SLR-like category this digital camera has many of the same features as an SLR – body size and shape, manual control options, and physical features, while also having the ability to “dumb down” to point-and-shoot level. However, I feel that Fujifilm is almost spreading itself too thin with this model. '
