Offering high quality 8.1 megapixel photos, the EX Z850 includes a 3X optical zoom, and offers both manual aperture and shutter speed priority AE options for advanced users who prefer to create customized images. The impressive 2.5“ Super Bright LCD generates approximately 1,200 cd/m2 of luminescent output, making the monitor even easier to view when outdoors. The Casio EX-Z850 includes the latest version of the EXILIM Engine, featuring the Anti Shake DSP which considerably reduces the incidence of blurred images due to shaky hands or moving subjects, so you only have to worry about which shots to take, not how they will come out. In response to user’s high demand, the Casio EX-Z850’s Super Life Battery supports 440 shots per charge, providing convenient, long-lasting usability.
Notable new features on the EX-Z850 include flash functions for a variety of settings and situations, including; Rapid Flash, which enables three flash photos in only one second to completely capture a given moment; Soft Flash, which prevents overexposure of subjects photographed up close; and High Power Flash, which ensures that subjects are properly illuminated even when photographed as far away as approximately 12.1 meters. The EX-Z850 also includes Revive Shot, which refreshes faded colors of old photos by bringing them back to life in digital format, automatically adjusts for obliquity even when photos are shot while still in the album.
The EX-Z850 represents the latest technology and functions the EXILIM digital camera line has to offer. Easy to use automatically or customizable to user specifications, this camera offers the stunningly high quality images and versatility that comes only from CASIO.

.Digital Camera Info has a first impression review of the Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z850 where they write - 'For a camera this small, the Casio EX-Z850 certainly packs in everything but the kitchen sink. Starting with the powerful 8 MP sensor and going to the superb battery life which is rated at 440 shots, theres a lot under the hood of this petite, all-metal point-and-shooter. Best of all, there are manual control options for more experienced photographers, including aperture and shutter priority AE and manual white balance. Those who like to let the camera do all the work can pick one of 34 of the Z850s Best Shot modes, including 9 more in the cameras Best Shot video mode.'
DP Review has posted their review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 where they give it a rating of 'recommended' and write - 'In the final analysis, however, the EX-Z850 has more to recommend it than many sub-compact models - not least for the huge feature set (which will give you months of fun), and the comprehensive photographic control. It's beautifully made, fast, has a stunning screen and is really enjoyable in use. It's frustrating that Casio has come so near - and yet remained so far - from creating the perfect 'serious' sub-compact in both this model and its predecessor, but the fact remains that - in experienced hands - it still comes closer than any of its competitors. We can't give it a Highly Recommended for all the reasons mentioned above, but I have no qualms about recommending it to anyone wanting something that offers a lot more than just 'point and shoot' functionality in an attractive, and truly pocketable package'
Lets Go Digital reviews the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 and writes - 'Casio are putting in serious work to achieve a larger market share. Now, we all know this can prove tricky if one's product assortment does not meet the consumer demand - but for Casio, there are no such issues. Cameras like the Casio Exilim EX Z850 more than deserve market share, simply because they are worth it. The image quality is outstanding, and the speed with which the images are processed, as well as the speed of the camera actions, really is striking. In fact, the entire combination can easily face the competition of other camera manufacturers. The Casio Exilim Z850 certainly leaves a dazzling impression. This camera, a true front runner, features everything needed to gain a larger market share. As far as I am concerned, the Casio Exilim EX Z850 is absolutely recommended!'
Digital Reviews has posted their review of the Casio Exilim ZOOM EX-Z850 where they write - 'Let’s summarise my findings over the last few weeks. I’m pleasantly surprised at the high quality of both finish and the digital output. This is a more than capable camera which should give years of great service – even when technology in 2010 will make us snicker at the “mere 8MP of this model. The Casio Exilim EX-Z850 has my highest recommendation for this class of camera! It’s also very affordable at around the $400 mark. In a couple of words: it’s fun, feature-filled and fantastic. On that note: I just bought a waterproof case for the Z850 so we’ll be plumbing new depths as well.'
Steves Digicams reviews the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 and writes - 'Casio's EXilim EX-Z850 will make a great choice for anyone who wants or needs an "ultra- compact" model with loads of useful scene modes, 8-megapixels of resolution, and robust performance, all for a reasonable price. With the 8m Fine images, you'll have plenty of resolution to create poster size prints, or photo-lab quality 13x19-inch prints of a cropped image. With an MSRP of $399, it does offer a great value, however you can purchase Casio's 10-megapixel EX-Z1000 for the same price, and it includes many of these features, plus has a large 2.8-inch LCD.'
DCRP reviews the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 where they write - 'The Casio Exilim EX-Z850 puts a ton of features into a compact and stylish body. And for not much money, either -- this thing sells for about $325. It's a capable performer, and a camera that I can recommend to just about everyone, save for those people who take a lot of night scenes. It's not a perfect camera (but what is), but most people will really like what the Z850 offers.'
Popular Photography reviews the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 and writes - 'Despite resolution numbers that are low for its class, and a limited usable ISO range, the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 does a lot of things right. The enthusiasts in the family will love the manual controls, while the kids will love the ease of use and fun best shot modes. With its combination of fun and functional features in a pocket-sized package, this could be one compact camera to make the whole family happy.'
