Digital Camera Info reviews the Casio Exilim EX-Z60 where they write - 't is no surprise to me that Casios entry level camera has a bit of flair to it compared to the products of companies that only deal with cameras. Most Americans probably associate Casio mostly with watches and secondly with small electronic devices, and their cameras reflect this and apparently borrow styling from their other products. The choice of brushed aluminum for the body is evidence of this, at a time when plastic camera bodies are ubiquitous.'
Pocket Lint has reviewed the Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z60 and have given it a rating of 8 out of 10. They write - 'Casio's Exilim compacts are quietly building a big fan base with those that know of them and word of mouth, offering stylish, simple to use and compact cameras at good prices. The Z60 retails for a penny under 200, but you'll get it around 30 cheaper by shopping around and as such it makes great value. More than adequate image quality and a veritable host of automated snapping options to throw at almost any shooting situation make it very usable indeed. It may lack the controllability of some similar competitor models, but it also lacks their price premium. As such, it is certainly worth putting on your wants list, if a simple to use and competent digital compact is what youre after. '
CNET have posted their review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z60 where they give it a 6.2 out of 10 and write - 'With its slim, brushed-black or brushed-silver metal body and rounded edges, the 6-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-Z60 looks more like a slightly oversize high-tech business-card case than a camera. It boasts enough style to impress a fashionista, adequate zip to please a soccer mom, and sufficient features to keep a tweaker happy; unfortunately, it lacks the photo quality required to satisfy all but the most casual snapshot photographer.'
Steves Digicams reviews the Casio Exilim EX-Z60 and writes - 'While it did great outdoors, our indoor ambient light shots of the M&M man were disappointing. The Anti-Shake technology helps reduce the effects of camera shake and subject blurring by boosting the ISO sensitivity. Unfortunately, in lower lighting, the ISO is boosted so high that image noise becomes very noticeable. When you look at our ambient light M&M man photo at 100%, there is so much noise that it almost looks like some sort of PhotoShop effect to change a picture into a water color painting. Although this can be corrected by simply turning off Anti-Shake via the menu system, It kind of defeats the purpose of this technology as it was meant to be used in these low light conditions. On a better note, the EX-Z60 did very well in the portrait department. When shooting flash portraits indoors or any marginal lighting, you will have to work with in the range of the flash, which Casio claims can cover 12 feet at wide angle (ISO Auto.) I had no problems capturing our indoor portraits from about 4 to 5 feet away, using the mid telephoto end of the zoom range. Overall they showed pleasing facial detail and natural skin tones.'
Digital Trends reviews the Casio Exilim EX-Z60 and writes - 'Any consumer looking to purchase a new digital camera soon should seriously consider the Casio Exilim EX-Z60. It’s the perfect balance of a high-quality digital camera with a price that most people can afford when shopping around. If you want to do both movies and photos, step up to the EX-S600. Otherwise, the BestShot technology and other great features included in this camera will be sure to attract your attention and get your money’s worth.'
Lets Go Digital reviews the Casio Exilim Z60 and writes - 'We have now tried out several Casio digital cameras and we can conclude that Casio is a player to watch out for. The Exilim series is well thought out and fitted with all sorts of innovative solutions. In general, the speed is great and it is typical of Casio that they have succeeded in this. The Casio Exilim Z60 is a handy compact camera with a lot of automatic functionality. It’s not perfect, but its good image quality will be more than enough to satisfy the owners of this camera!'
