New IMAGELINK print system to strengthen Kodak’s leadership in the photo printers market

Kodak Australia News Release: Kodak Australasia has supplemented its award-winning line of EasyShare printer docks, announcing the first model to support the IMAGELINK print system. The latest EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3 makes one-touch printing possible from multiple brands of digital cameras.

Consumers are now home-printing more digital photos than ever before, with one printer dock purchased for every three digital cameras sold. Kodak dominates this market as verified by its 85 per cent lead (in the dedicated photo printer category) according to GfK Marketing Services 2004 reports. Latest figures also confirm that Kodak has maintained its market leadership in the photo printer’s category with 81 per cent in February 2005.

Designed to simplify at-home picture printing, the IMAGELINK system – integrated in the new Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3 – was recently introduced by a group of the world’s largest consumer digital photography companies. Consumer digital cameras from Eastman Kodak Company, Konica Minolta Photo Imaging, Inc., Nikon Corporation, Olympus Corporation, Pentax Corporation, Ricoh Co., Ltd. and Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. - will provide effortless, one-touch picture printing from snapshot printers that incorporate the IMAGELINK print system, including new Kodak EasyShare printer docks. With the IMAGELINK print system, digital cameras are placed directly on printer docks and a single button is pressed to make snapshot-sized pictures in seconds.

Kodak is providing innovative solutions for digital photographers of all levels. The high zoom Z740 (5MP, 10X optical zoom) and Z700 (4MP, 5X optical zoom) digital cameras are ideal for capturing photos anytime, anywhere with high quality results. Combined with the one-touch printing, brisk speed, and phenomenal picture quality of the Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3, the Z-Series digital cameras allow greater flexibility to capture, print and share photos.

“Bundling the new Kodak Printer Dock Series 3 with the Z-Series cameras provides consumers with a complete digital photography system in one package”, said Steve Morley, General Manager, Digital and Film Imaging Systems, Australia & New Zealand.

Morley continued, “The integration of the IMAGELINK print system in the Kodak Printer Dock Series 3 represents the next evolution in simplifying at-home digital picture printing; building upon the global success of Kodak EasyShare printer docks. Customers win through greater ease of use and higher satisfaction. The industry wins by generating additional excitement around making prints from digital images”.

The new Kodak EasyShare Printer Dock Series 3 is currently available in Australia bundled with the Kodak EasyShare Z740 (AUD$799) and Z700 (AUD$599) digital cameras.
