There are a number of speculative articles surfacing around the web today that Apple is about to announced an digital camera. These seem to have arisen out of the notice that Apple gave last week of a press conference to be held later today - on the eve of the PhotoPlus Expo.
While most people believe the press conference is about announcing upgrades to Apples PowerMac and PowerBook ranges - some are also saying that it could include a new Pro Photo retouching application.
We've heard nothing to confirm the rumors except that there is almost definately some hardware improvements coming for the PowerMac and Powerbook.
Talk of digital cameras is pure speculation - but it is nice to dream - especially seeing how Apple have impacted the audio market in recent times. Apple entering the digital imaging market could be just the injection of innovation and creativity that the industry needs at the moment.
Update: Think Secret reports that Apple has a very large booth booked for PhotoPlus Expo which is fueling rumors of more than just updates being announced later today. Time will tell.
