The Minolta Dimage Z1 is a space age looking camera and worth consideration if you are looking for a good mid level camera.
The feature that stands out to me is its 10x optical zoom. The lens itself is said to be top quality and very quick auto focusing. Its also got manual focusing which would be handy.
The Minolta DiMage Z1 is only 3.2 megapixel which is adequate but in comparison to other SLR style digital cameras recently released its pretty average. Having said this its reasonably priced considering its excellent range of features.
