Beijing did a lot to improve the air quality leading up to the Beijing Olympics, with mixed results. The days before the opening ceremony were pretty bad, but a burst of rain cleared the air and pollution became less of a talking point. Beijing recorded 6.52 million visitors for the 2008 Olympics, with 382,000 of those coming from overseas. At the Sydney Olympics the US took out both Men's and Women's Basketball Gold Medals and it is tipped that they will do so again in Athens. In the women's basketball competition pressure will come from Australia and Brazil whilst in men's competition it is likely to come from teams including Lithuania, France, Russia, China and Yugoslavia.

i think the nigerian female basketball team is doing a great job. they should try a bit harder though. tell them that we are praying for them and always watching them on Tv.

I was hoping us Asian girls would show off skill in the Olympics, but they end up losing all the matches (Well, I think Japan won one time). tsk tsk tsk...dissapointing. I was depending on them. Well, I guess we'll have to wait till 2008, when I'm 18 and Hopefully I can make it to the Olympics. :D
