Beijing did a lot to improve the air quality leading up to the Beijing Olympics, with mixed results. The days before the opening ceremony were pretty bad, but a burst of rain cleared the air and pollution became less of a talking point. Beijing recorded 6.52 million visitors for the 2008 Olympics, with 382,000 of those coming from overseas. Authorities long estimated that 500,000 foreigners would visit the city, but tougher visa controls reduced that number. The closing ceremony has gotten under away. The introduction was interesting, perhaps people will say it is a little “North Korean’esque”. The athletes are entering the stadium and I can only imagine the thrill it must be to be able to walk into the stadium at the end of the games. [...]

One of the worst kept secrets of the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony is that the floor of the Olympic Stadium will be flooded during the ceremony.
'An engineer working on the stadium's Olympic preparations confirms that water will be a feature for the ceremony, rumored to be one of the most-costly ever staged for the Olympic Games. He briefed reporters, including ATR Athens correspondent Anthony Stavrinos, during a stadium tour Friday.'

Greece is ready. Greece will host the best games ever. And you people just dont like that. A country of 11 million to pull this through.
I have been to Athens 2 days ago. I see reporters from CNN BBC SKY EUROSPORT and from around the globe to stand in front of the stadiums in Athens asking eachother '' How the hell they did all this? My God is unbelievable. It's beyond imagination. WE WERE ABOUT THEM GREEKS"
And by the way... Security issues? Well guys, am afraid YOU have started all this. Stop the war and watch the games. Believe is much more fun.
