Sony Ericsson W610The Sony Ericsson W610 Walkman phone features a 2.0 megapixel camera. Other features include:

* Walkman player 2.0
* 512MB Memory Stick Micro
* 1.9-inch 262K TFT LCD display

Sony Ericsson W610 press release excerpts:

The W610 Walkman® phone is all about the detail, whether this is detail in design that builds on the look of earlier Walkman® phones or the detailed combination of mobile music with a credible digital camera. The W610 stores up to 470 full-length music tracks* on the 512MB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2) provided, and offers the inventive TrackID™ music recognition application; a feature that lets the user record a clip of an unknown music track onto their phone and immediately receive a notification of the track name, artist and album. Add to this a 2.0 megapixel camera with auto focus and the W610 is a credible fusion of phone, music player & digital camera.

The W610 Walkman® phone is a fully specified music phone that does not compromise on its digital camera offering. As well as the 2.0 megapixel camera with auto focus, video recording and playback, the W610 provides a horizontal camera menu – so that the user holds it as they would a regular camera when taking a picture - and a Picture blogging facility for uploading photo’s direct to a user’s online blog site. Switching back to the music credentials, the W610 includes an RDS FM Radio to brighten up the daily commute or trip to the gym. In fact, the only compromise with the W610 Walkman® phone is choosing between the two colour options; will it be Plush Orange or Satin Black?

The W610 Walkman® phone is an EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 music camera phone and will be available in selected markets from Q2 2007.

Sony Ericsson W610 Reviews

Pocket-lint reviews the Sony Ericsson W610i and writes, "With a fatter design and a paired down spec sheet compared to the W880i, this is clearly a catalogue filler rather than flagship model from Sony Ercisson. That's not to say that it’s a bad phone, far from it, but it's for those who perhaps can't afford the W880i and want to upgrade from their W810i for a slimmer more software-packed model. Good, but don't expect to get many head turns down the pub."

Trusted Reviews reviews the Sony Ericsson W610i and writes, "Of course, there is a camera. It captures stills at resolutions up to 2.0 megapixels which is a little low-key for Sony Ericsson. Its twin LED flash can be used as a very effective torch. There is a macro mode and also an infinity setting for the focus. The autofocusing system takes a short time to kick in when you press the shutter button on the right edge of the casing, but the pictures themselves are reasonably sharp. ... The Sony Ericsson W610i is a pretty average Walkman phone. The presence of an FM radio is a treat, but the screen and camera are both a little below par, and the small buttons might be too fiddly for some."

CNET reviews the Sony Ericsson W610i ans writes, "Similar to its predecessors in the Walkman range, the W610i has a 2-megapixel camera that captures photos and videos. Cameras certainly aren't Sony's biggest forte, but the built-in one here comes with a wide range of functions, scene selections, manual settings, an autofocus and a self-timer. It also has a bright LED for taking night shots or using the phone as a torch. The pictures we took during the day came out well; night shots, however, became quite blurry, especially when viewed on a PC."

CNET UK reviews the Sony Ericsson W610i and writes, "For taking snaps, you'll find a 2-megapixel camera mounted on the back of the phone. It has both autofocus and dual LED flash, so it produces good results even when working in dimly lit conditions. The 2-megapixel resolution means the pictures it takes are not great when printed out, but they're fine for uploading to a Web site. The phone also has nifty picture blogging software built-in, which automatically creates a blog that you can upload pictures and comments to directly from the handset."

Best Syndicate reviews the Sony Ericsson W610i and writes, "Like many mid-range mobile phones, the W610i doesn’t have an outstanding camera, but the 2 megapixel camera does feature auto focus and a flash so pictures and video clips are acceptable for messaging whether they are taken during the day or at night. It may be difficult to capture subjects in the distance, however, with only 2.25X digital zoom."
