Six charged on 'happy slap' assault
'Six people have appeared in court in connection with an alleged “happy slapping” sex assault on a teenage girl.
The six - aged between 16 and 20 - were arrested after the alleged filming by camera phone of an assault against a 14-year-old girl at a party in Glasgow last month.
The Crown Office confirmed a Scottish News of the World report that five had been charged with indecent assault and one with rape and that all six were bailed on condition that they attend future court hearings.
Tom Sier, 20, of Govanhill, Glasgow, made no plea or declaration when he appeared in private on petition at Glasgow Sheriff Court earlier this month, charged with indecent assault. On Monday, three more youths made no plea or declaration as they appeared in private in the same court.'
