Schools to ban Mobile Phones
Teachers are calling for a ban of cell phones, especially camera phones, as fears about abuse mount. Some teachers are upset that Parent / Teacher meetings can be secretly recorded using the phones, which often get out of hand. Others are concerned that they'll be recorded in class. The more serious problem is of pupil-pupil abuse issues, like snapping shots in the gym or bathrooms and sharing the photos.
It's clear some rules need to be in place for proper cell phone use, and especially now with camera phones. But these teachers seem to miss the point. Tape recorders have been pocket sized for decades. This case seems less about the phones and more about getting caught.
