Samsung Ultra Smart F700 Reviews

Infosync has a hands-on review of the Samsung Ultra Smart F700 and writes, "The phone is much thinner than other QWERTY sliders we've used. It isn't as thin as the iPhone, but it also isn't as thick as one of HTC's QWERTY sliders, like the Mogul on Sprint. Samsung's designers referred to this phone as the "Q-Bowl." Q stood for QWERTY, and the bowl comes from the idea of touching the surface of a bowl of water with your fingertips. It's a nice visual image, and we especially like the tranquil audio effects that accompany actions and gave feedback to our input. Very classy, and clearly very high quality...Still, something is missing. The phone lacks a "wow" factor, and stands now as a compelling alternative to the iPhone, when it should stand on its own."

Pocket-lint reviews the Samsung SGH-F700v and writes, "Camera-wise, as we said there's a 3-megapixel snapper with auto focus and flash, plus a VGA camera on the front to take advantage of the HSDPA connectivity. Images taken can be saved down to the 100MB internal memory that's backed up by microSD card support up to 2GB."

CNET UK reviews the Samsung SGH-F700 and writes, "HSDPA (3.5G) means you can download data much faster than on the iPhone's EDGE connection. Unlike the iPhone, you can take pictures and send them to friends via MMS, you can use the [3 megapixel] camera to shoot videos and you can make 3G video calls using the VGA camera on the front."

Mobile Choice reviews the Samsung SGH-F700 and writes, ""A speedy HSDPA connection, full slide-out QWERTY keypad and a three-megapixel camera, complete with auto-focus, makes the F700 a beast of a phone. It also boasts Google Maps and YouTube, found under the Applications section of the Entertainment menu button."

3G reviews the Samsung SGH-E700 and writes, "On the back of the F700 is a three-megapixel camera. This is no great surprise, as Samsung has been putting excellent cameras into its handsets for ages now. And of course, it is more powerful than the iPhone's two-megapixel camera...Welcome additional camera features on the F700 are auto-focus, instead of the usual fixed focus lens, and a bright LED light (not a flash) that comes on if needed. In fact, the results are pretty impressive, although not quite up to the standard of Samsung's G800 snapper, of course."

Trusted Reviews has a review of the Samsung SGH-F700v and writes, "It's a shame about the irritations, because Samsung has a phone here with massive potential. Its keyboard is superb, it has HSDPA where the iPhone is limited to GPRS, its touch-screen works well most of the time, and the vibration feedback is a thing of genius...There's no doubt that the F700V is a very, very good phone, and if it were available with a more generous data tariff I'd have no hesitation in recommending it as a great value for money alternative to the iPhone. But despite all of its plus points there are just too many buts and if-onlys right now to make it a truly compelling choice."

IT Reviews has a review of the Samsung SGH-F700 and writes, "A great Web browsing feature is that the side-mounted volume rocker doubles as a zoom key so you can change the zoom level for different pages easily and fast. There is also a 3-megapixel main camera with flash and a front-facing second camera for video calling...Overall, if you are interested in a mobile with a touch-screen the SGH-F700 is an attractive option and the keyboard will be useful to those who like their mobile e-mail."

LetsGoMobile reviews the Samsung SGH-F700 and writes, "The Samsung F700 has been equipped with two digital cameras. The front carries a small VGA camera, which mainly serves for video calls. The second camera, on the back, is more enhanced of course. The 3.0 Megapixel digital camera with auto focus as well as flash takes beautiful pictures. A minus is the shutter lag which makes the camera very slow. Sometimes I did not capture what I wanted to capture because I moved the phone before the picture was taken or because the object had gone from the composition before I was able to capture it. The flash has a rather limited effective range and is in fact a LED instead of a flash tube. Still the functionality of an internal flash is evidently apparent. I, myself didn't use it that much though. Moreover if you like to capture an object at a considerable distance, a flash like this creates some unwanted side effects."
