Samsung U900 Soul Reviews
MobileBurn reviews the Samsung U900 Soul and writes, "For a device that is not touted specifically as a cameraphone, we have been most impressed by the Samsung SGH-U900 Soul's picture taking abilities. It does basically everything right. The user interface is very intuitive, the touchpad controller only making it better, and the auto-focus camera takes wonderful quality 5 megapixel images. The flash is somewhat useless, as is the digital anti-shake function, but those matter little to us. We're just happy at this point when a phone takes nice pictures, and the Soul does just that. The U900 also supports ShoZu's mobile picture blogging system, and the camera can also record nice QVGA resolution videos, too. Score one for Samsung."
Trusted Reviews has a review of the Samsung U900 Soul and writes, "A front-facing camera caters for video-calling whereas the main camera - its lens protected under the back slide panel - shoots at 5-megapixels. There is an LED flash, self-portrait mirror and autofocus. Face detection helps the camera lock onto people and ensure they stay in focus...Image quality was not the best I've seen from a mobile but very good indeed nonetheless. The coloured dish, photographed under standard household lights, is sharp and clear. The flower was photographed using the macro mode. There is a slight blurring of the image but the flower was moving around in a breeze as the photo was taken so this is not a surprise, really. And the beading of water droplets is captured nicely. Colour reproduction is very good in both photos."
Independent.ie reviews the Samsung U900 Soul and writes, " What really impressed me was the five-megapixel camera. With autofocus and image stabiliser, you could easily take snapshots good enough to send to family and friends...There’s even a macro function to capture objects up close and you can do some serviceable photo editing on the go...Our resident photographer Conor said it was the best onboard mobile camera he had tested to date."
3G reviews the Samsung U900 Soul and writes, "There's plenty more to the Samsung Soul than its customisable backgrounds and fonts. Beneath the Soul's fancy exterior is an array of features just as exciting. Let's start with the five-megapixel camera. Despite its multiple-pixel capability, compared with the Samsung G800, the Soul's camera features appear a tad lacking. Unlike its bulkier brother, the Soul has no optical zoom and there's only an LED flash rather than the more superior Xenon. However, this needs some perspective. At present the Samsung G800 is the only handset available with optical zoom, while the benefits of a Xenon flash as opposed to an LED will only be truly appreciated when taking night-time shots. So although the Soul may lack some of the G800's oomph, it still compares favourably with other high-specced camera phones.
