MobileBurn reviews the Samsung SGH-P300, and finds the phone's camera to be average: "The SGH-P300's camera is an average quality 1.3 megapixel unit. Since it is fixed focus, it rarely takes sharp pictures, but takes reasonable photos in most situations. It lacks a white balance setting, but its automatic white balance seems to work pretty well - especially with indoor lighting, a rare trait. A number of settings for picture quality and resolution are available (all sample photos we shot were at the highest setting), as are a number of fun features like mosaics and frames (though frames only work at the lowest resolution). Multi-shot modes and various color/negative effects are also available, as is an adjustable self-timer function. Like many Samsung devices, most of the functions can be quickly accessed via keypad shortcuts, saving you the hassle of using the menus once you have learned what each key does. You can access the sample photo gallery at the end of the story by using the table of contents select box that is located to the right of the page numbers at the top of the page."

TechDigest reviews the Samsung SGH-P300, and finds that it has an at-times crackly microphone, but the style is quite seductive. About the phone's camera: "The 1.3 megapixel camera, which shoots through a clever little hole in the incorporated case, yields bearable results for stills, and the usual happy slapper standard blocky video. Its flash though doubles as an emergency torch for late night lost cufflink crises. A nice touch."

Pocket-lint reviews the Samsung P300 and concludes, "the P300 is a very slim phone that will offer virtually everything most readers will need, however the retro calculator look will put a lot of people off. ... Until it becomes ultra-cool to be a geek with calculator then we believe that a lot of people will be put off by its design, we know we are."

Trusted Reviews reviews the Samsung SGH-P300 and writes, "There’s a 1.3-megapixel camera built-in to the P300, which is again a little disappointing compared to the 2-megapixel camera seen in the D600. The results from the camera were variable, and definitely no match for my D600, even though that phone is almost a year old now. The P300 is also only Tri-band compared to the D600 which supports quad-band GSM. ... There’s no denying that the Samsung SGH-P300 is slim and stylish in a retro pocket calculator way, but what you’ve really got here is an old Samsung D500 in a party dress. The handset is also a bit too wide to sit comfortably in your hand, while pressing it to your ear when making a call is also a little awkward. But it’s the keypad layout that really ruins this handset, making simple things like dialling a number more difficult than it should be."
