Samsung SGH-D830 Reviews

Pocket-lint reviews the Samsung SGH-D830 and writes, "Due to the model's thickness, some compromises have had to be made, the most notable being the battery life. The D830 offers almost 5 hours less than compared with the company's much thicker D600 model - a paltry 2.5 hours. Likewise the phone's multiimedia elements have been hit hardest in Samsung's second weight loss experiment. While the phone sports a 2 megapixel camera, the D830 doesn't offer a flash to light up those dark pub shots most people love to snap."

TrustedReviews reviews the Samsung SGH-D830 and writes, "Of course there is a camera. With no shortcut button on the phone casing you can only turn the camera on via the handset menu and the task requires two key presses. The lens is on the front of the casing, but you can’t use the front screen as a viewfinder to take pictures of yourself as you often can with clamshells. The camera lacks a flash or self portrait mirror, but you can manually change the ISO setting between 100, 200 and 400 as well as have it and the white balance on automatic. As ever I chose the automatic settings for the test shots. My standard reference shot is a multicoloured tray, taken indoors with ordinary household overhead lighting. The Samsung's effort is reasonably good as is the outdoor shot of flowers. The vibrant pink and bright white in this photo are both well reproduced. The third shot, again taken indoors, this time in a café with fluorescent lighting overhead is not as sharp as it could be and the bright whites are over exposed in places."

MobileBurn reviews the Samsung SGH-D830 and writes, "The camera on the Samsung SGH-D830 appears to be the same as that on the X820 - a 2MP CMOS fixed focus module. The maximum resolution supported is 1200 x 1600 pixels. Users are given the usual camera options as found on other Samsung phones, including white balance and ISO settings. In actual testing, these fancy settings do not make as much difference as on entry-level digital cameras. Picture quality turns out fine, especially when the sun is strong. Indoor pictures are decent for a camera of this class."
