Samsung SCH-V770

Samsung 7Megapixel
Yonhap News reveals that Samsung will announce their new 7 megapixel camera phone at CeBit this week - the Samsung SCH-V770. The SCH-V770's has a 1/1.8 inch type CCD image sensor, 3x optical zoom lens, flash and manual focus control. It also has 32 megabytes of internal memory. More details will be posted here as they come to hand.

'South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics Co. said Wednesday it will unveil the world's first mobile phone with a cutting-edge 7-megapixel camera at a high-tech trade fair here.

Samsung, which has been closely pacing U.S.-based Motorola Inc. to become the world's second-largest mobile phone maker, said the SCH-V770 phone would offer a photo-taking capability similar to a top-end digital still camera. The new phone will be introduced at the CeBIT fair, which runs from Thursday through next Wednesday.

A price has yet to be fixed, and the company did not say when the device will go on sale.'

Samsung 7Mp2infoSync World previews the Samsung SCH-V770 and writes - 'Featuring 3x optical zoom, auto focus, built-in flash and a user interface likely to be more suited for camera use rather than telephony, the SCH-V770's built-in lens has a focal length of 7.8 to 23.4 mm, offers manual focus control and has a shutter lag of 0.0005 second. A QVGA TFD display with 16M colours doubles as a viewfinder, and there's also 32 MB of internal memory - which, in the name of honesty, won't get you very far with a 7 MP camera.'
