Panasonic GU87

Panasonic Gu87The Panasonic GU87 features an 110,000-pixel CMOS1 camera with helpful features like a self-timer, indoor/outdoor shooting and more. With it, you can send photos to your friends over email right from your phone. You can take pictures of subjects as close as 30 cm, to capture small objects or dynamic close-ups. And the easy-to-use shutter button lets you snap photos instantly.

CNET reviews the Panasonic GU87 and writes - 'Panasonic's first flip phone--and the first camera phone--for AT&T Wireless service has a lot going for it, not just snapshooting capabilities....The GU87 has enough high-end features to satisfy even the heaviest power users. Highlights include 20 ring tones, a vibrate mode, caller ID, call logs, an alarm, a game (Herding Sheep), a calendar, voice commands, a calculator, a money converter, a Mute button, and a built-in speakerphone. You can also record four 14-second memos and forward incoming calls to another number. In addition, you can store 200 contacts in the phone book, as well as another 250 names and numbers on the SIM card. Not surprisingly, you can use this Panasonic to send and receive SMS, e-mail, and MMS messages.'

Mobiledia reviews the Panasonic GU87 and writes - ''The Panasonic GU87 shows just how much the mobile phone has evolved. More than simply a device for talking, the GU87 is the complete communication tool which lets you send text messages, take photos with a built-in camera, and enjoy vibrant color images and sound. Don't think of the GU87 as just a mobile phone. The GU87 is a stylish and functionally advanced communications device that helps to bring a whole new world of image-rich communication to life.'

IGN reviews the Panasonic GU87 and writes - ''For each of the Panasonic's functions I can think of a phone that does that better. The 6590 has a better camera that can do video and sound and has Bluetooth so sending the pictures to a computer is easier and cheaper. Want a gaming phone? Well the T720 knocks its socks off, and
has an active flip to boot. Want the best call quality available? Well it's fine if you're in an area with grade A coverage, but it's not got the reception of dual band GSM phones running on both 850 and 1900 Mhz like the Siemens C56 or the Nokia 3590/3595.'
