Nokia 8800 Arte Reviews

CNET Australia reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes, "The 3.2-megapixel camera module captures pictures in 2,048 x 1,536 resolution and videos in VGA. Both are limited by the size of available memory on the handset. Image quality is at best average. The camera doesn't take to highlights very well, frequently burning out details in bright areas. Auto white balance can also be too cool at times."

Mobile Choice UK reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes, "It’s better equipped than Nokia’s previous luxury phones, with a 3.2-megapixel camera and 3G data speeds onboard, together with 1GB of built in memory. However, it lets itself down a little by excluding an expandable memory slot and there’s no 3.5mm jack port for the music player. However, the phone does mute when you turn it over, which is cool."

Pocket-lint reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes, "The 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus is pretty decent but don’t expect pin-sharp K810i Cyber-shot picture quality. Snaps are blighted with a hint of digital noise and a magenta tinge but it won’t spoil your appreciation. However, the lack of any flash or macro focus is disappointing. Video capture on the other hand is surprisingly slick and easy on the eye, shooting in a 640 x 480 pixel resolution."

Trusted Reviews has a review of the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes, "The camera has auto focus and shoots at resolutions up to 3.2-megapixels. It has no flash or self-portrait mirror. Image quality was generally acceptable, but not as good as I'd expect from a mobile of this price...The coloured dish, shot indoors under normal household lighting, is grainy, though the colours are reproduced quite faithfully. The white chair is again accurate on the colour front, but the detail is not wonderful with some noticeable lens distortion at the edges. The flowers show how the camera functions for closer shots. Not too hot, in my opinion, with the autofocus missing the main subject of the composition."

CNET UK reviews the Nokia 8800 Arte and writes, "Its price is certainly premium and we expected the best features available. Instead, we were frazzled by the Arte's offerings. For instance, there's a 3.2-megapixel camera, but no flash. Kiss those romantic, candle-lit photos goodbye. You won't be able to see anything unless the curtains catch on fire. Also, there's Web browsing over 3G, but a relatively small screen, so compared to something like the N95, it doesn't really lend itself to surfing."
