TrustedReviews reviews the Motorola MOTORAZR2 V8 and writes, "The lens for the built-in 2 megapixel camera is on the front of the casing and you can use the front screen to frame photos of yourself. Open the flip and the main screen is used to frame outward looking photos...Image quality is really quite good if you shoot photos outside. My sample shots were taken on a fairly unforgiving day in terms of natural light, and the lens managed to capture a lot of detail. It reproduced the colours of the passionflower well too."

3G reviews the Motorola MOTORAZR2 V8 and writes, "Where the V8 disappoints is with its feature set. The phone lacks 3G and the two-megapixel camera means the V8 ultimately falls short of some of the more equipped handsets. The camera itself has a multi-shot facility, that allows you to take up to eight consecutive pictures, while it is also possible to send a photo from your handset direct to a Bluetooth-enabled printer. The video recorder allows up to two hours of recording time, as well as a playback option."

Register Hardware reviews the Motorola MOTORAZR2 V8 and writes, "Motorola has opted for a run-of-the-mill two-megapixel camera for the V8. The 1200 x 1600 pixels resolution is standard issue, and there’s only s limited amount of useful tweaking you can do. There’s a night mode, which doesn’t compensate at all for the lack of a flash, and there are a few picture effects you can apply. Unfortunately, there’s no autofocus, or macro mode for close-ups, though there is an 8x digital zoom."

IT Reviews has a review of the Motorola MOTORAZR2 V8 and writes, "The camera, too, is mixed. At 2-megapixels it is towards the low end of what is acceptable for a phone these days. The lens is on the front of the casing, and another use of the front screen is to frame photos that include yourself. When you open the flip the lens faces away from you and the inner screen is used for framing shots...This is all fine, but during testing the camera delivered nondescript performance indoors, although it was much better outside."

Digital Trends reviews the Motorola RAZR2 V8 and writes, "Music aside, things are pretty much what one would expect from a MOTORAZR update. The 2 MegaPixel camera is easy to use and, because it has no flash, is somewhat grainy. The actual phone screen is a bit more colorful than the previous model, which probably helps the pictures look better than they actually are. The T-Mobile-driven web access is fast and efficient."
