Laptop Magazine reviews the Motorola MPx220 and writes - 'The MPx220 is a major improvement over the MPx200, but is that enough? Not as far as we're concerned. If you're looking for a full QWERTY keyboard, the Sierra Wireless Voq has a decisive edge over the MPx220. And we like the Audiovox SMT5600 better because of its sheer compactness. But, if a megapixel camera is on your list of must-have features, this Motorola is worth considering.'

And, with a large 64MB flash ROM and removable mini-SD card memory expansion slot; it’s like bringing an extra suitcase for storage with you on your travels, without the bulky baggage.
Looking Good
Multi-taskers are time pressed and with the MPx220 you can rely on email and IM for constant access to your colleagues, customers, friends and family. The Motorola MPx220 offers a more personalized connectivity as well. with its digital 1.2 megapixel integrated camera and MMS capabilities which provide users a new way to send messages that contain more than just words. Whether you are facilitating a business deal overseas or just wishing your child “happy birthday”, take a photo of yourself, attach a personalized voice recording and send. And with the model MPx220’s brilliant, external color display and photo caller-ID you can even see who’s calling without opening the phone. Putting a face to a name has never been so easy.

Phone Mag reviews the Motorola MPx220 and writes - 'Damn you Motorola...this is “criminal” of you for integrating such a poorly built camera into the almighty MPx220. It’s a shame that the Audiovox SMT6500’s digital camera is only VGA yet still has a MUCH better quality than the MPx220’s so-called 1.3 mega-pixel camera!'
Mobile Gizmo compares the Motorola MPx220 and the Audiovox 5600
PDA Buyers Guide reviews the Motorola MPx220 and writes - 'It looks like a regular cell phone but boy does it pack a lot of features and power! If you're looking for a phone that offers easy syncronization to Outlook and MS Exchange, can carry much the same data as a PDA but don't need the size, features and touch screen of a PDA, then do consider the MPx220. However, if you make plenty of calls in noisy public places, you may want to steer clear of the MPx220 because earpiece volume is low. If you plan to use wired or Bluetooth headsets then you won't have to worry about this. We do hope Motorola issues an updater to increase the built-in earpiece and mic volume.'
SmartPhone Thoughts reviews the Motorola MPx220 and writes - 'Motorola's MPx220 stands out of the Smartphone crowd because of its superb styling and clam shell design. Clam shell lovers would instantly adopt this model. Others should look at the differences between the MPx220 and candy-bar Smartphones. Quad-band, fast dual core processor, keypad/joypad and the externally accessible miniSD slot are the main advantages. As the second generation Smartphone, Motorola has got the specifications right. The Smartphone has all the ingredients to make it a successful model in the market. The only thing stopping it is a couple of fixes, which Motorola can release in the form of a firmware update.'
infoSync Wolrd reviews the Motorola MPx220 and writes - 'Having corrected several mistakes made by its predecessor, the MPx220 now delivers better battery life, a more responsive user experience, improved connectivity support and suitable amounts of memory. Unfortunately, usability and ergonomics issues abound, audio is barely adequate, and output from the megapixel camera is outright abysmal. Still, the MPx220 carries out the vast majority of its core functions with aplomb, and does so with a reasonable price tag.'
PocketNow has a review of the Motorola MPx220 and writes - 'To date, my experience with this device has been mixed at best. This is definitely NOT a PDA. It's a cell phone; and no matter what you do to it, no matter how much you tweak it, play with it, etc., it's still going to be [just] a cell phone. If you're used to a PDA or Pocket PC Phone, taking and watching multimedia files will be painful, if not agonizing. Phones should not be used to play digital music or video. The 1.2 megapixel camera took mediocre stills and jerky video, and the flash was an absolute joke. Do yourself a favor and don't use it. All you're gonna do is waste your battery.'
