Motorola MOTORIZR Z8 Reviews

Mobile-Review reviews the Motorola Z8 and writes, "The bundled 2 Mpix camera shows off CMOS-sensor and LED flash. Quality-wise it performs on an average level, so there are no pleasant surprises to look for. Camera application can be launched only with the slider closed – if that’s the case, punching the side dedicated button starts up the viewfinder mode. And slid-open, the Z8 boots up the forward-facing VGA camera. ... Video turns out to be average quality-wise; you can also disable the sound."

RegHardware reviews the Motorola Z8 and writes, "The Z8 includes a two-megapixel camera, with eight levels of zoom. This is adequate, but there's no auto-focus. As is the norm with phones these days, it defaults to landscape - you take snaps with the phone aligned horizontally. Confusingly at first, when the Z8's slide is open, it uses the lower-resolution front-mounted 3G video-call camera, rather than the main, rear-mounted camera. Moto bundles the Shozu photo-sharing app with the Z8 - an excellent choice."

CNET UK has a review of the Motorola RIZR Z8 and writes, "don't expect high-quality pics from the Z8's 2-megapixel camera. You do get a relatively decent shot for MMS messages and small prints, though. You can also use the camera to shoot video if you're in the mood for something a little more lively. ... In terms of the day-to-day features, sending text messages, setting an alarm and inputting calendar entries is fairly straightforward, but it is worth pointing out that most of the Z8's features are hindered by the awkward-to-use keypad."

Trusted Reviews reviews the Motorola MOTORIZR Z8 and writes, "As well as a front facing camera for video calling there is a 2-megapixel camera on the back of the casing. This also captures video at 30 frames a second and I think Motorola has missed a trick by not providing video out capability. Where stills are concerned the camera is OK but not wonderful. It lacks autofocus and takes a while to save an image after you’ve pressed the shutter button. Capturing a succession of quick shots is not really on the cards. My standard photo of the coloured dish shot indoors under normal household lighting looks somewhat insipid. You can improve on it if you abandon the auto settings, but who wants to bother with that too often? The outdoor shots of flowers are OK for detail but colour reproduction is poor. The red flowers are far more crimson than the image suggests, and the other flowers are a bright pink not the dull purplish colour in the image."

IT Reviews the Motorola MOTORIZR Z8 and writes, "There is a camera, of course, with a 2-megapixel lens. It is far from being at the cutting edge, and during testing it proved to be average rather than outstanding. The Z8 is a 3G handset with a front-facing camera for video calling. It has a version of the Opera browser for Web browsing and this proved to be very effective during testing."

Camera Core reviews the Motorola MOTORIZR Z8 and writes, "The Z8’s digital camera is not really that great. It comes in with an integrated 2-megapixel fixed focus camera. Located at the back of the handset, it can be used even when the handset is closed. It comes equipped with an 8X digital zoom. You might be amazed with the number, but don’t be fooled, with digital zoom, pictures decreases in quality. There is also a self-timer that can be used o stop blur from movements on the pictures."
