Motorola A1010 Smartphone
InfoSync World previews the Motorola A1010 and writes - 'In addition, the A1010 will also offer VPN support, push e-mail, Internet browsing and instant messaging, as well as software for viewing and editing Microsoft Office file formats including Excel, Word and PowerPoint; as well as Adobe Acrobat Reader (PDF) documents.
Also present in the A1010 is memory expansion, but as was the case with the A1000, Motorola has disappointingly opted for an implementation its proprietary TransFlash format. Currently available in sizes of up to 512 MB at higher per-MB prices than most competing formats, I wouldn't find this as hard to swallow if it wasn't for the fact that any extended use of the 2 Megapixel camera of the device will require additional memory. '
Motorola A1010 – This sexy PDA like device is a smartphone with a difference. With corporate grade functions such as VPN support, advanced PIM management, push email, true internet browsing and Instant Messaging – you have it all at your fingertips. With 48MB of internal memory, up to 512MB expandable through Transflash, and the ability to download and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF documents, whilst at the same time making a conference call or browsing the latest news online – it is THE mobile convergence device of the future.
However, the A1010 is not all work and no play – a large, full colour, touch screen display, two-megapixel camera, advanced gaming and audio visual capabilities make it suitable both on and off the corporate playing field.
