LG VX8000 EVDO Camera Phone

Lg-Vx8000VX8000 EVDO Mobile Phone:

The VX8000 EVDO handset is the pinnacle of a visual entertainment handset, enhanced by the high-speed data capabilities of EVDO technology. The VX8000 features Video and Music on Demand for streaming, downloading and playing video and audio clips, Video Messaging capabilities and an integrated CCD 1.3 mega pixel camera with macro mode with four digital zoom settings for shooting video and still images. Users can compose and view their shots with large internal and external 262K TFT color LCD screens, and circulate them with Enhanced and Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS).

The VX8000 also includes the long list of standard features users have come to expect from LG, including 500 contact phone book, MIDI sound, personal organizer and more. Available January 2005. Price: TBD.

InfoSync World previews the LG VX8000 and writes - 'The VX8000 also does well when it comes to multimedia content creation. Housing a very adjustable 1.3 megapixel camera, the VX8000 can take still photos and record short video clips alike. The camera has a myriad of settings, including adjustable ISO (film speed) setting. There are a number of white balance settings, resolutions, image quality settings, and even shutter sound effect settings - even a close-focus macro mode. Throw in a self-timer, and you end up with a cameraphone that has just about everything you'd expect in a dedicated point and shoot digital camera. About the only thing missing is some sort of memory card slot. In any event, captured images can be sent from the VX8000 via MMS or EMS messages.'

Mobiledia reviews the LG VX8000 Review and writes - 'As the foundation, both internal and external screens are state-of-the-art TFT 262K color screens. Digital imaging is phenomenal, with a 1.3-megapixel camera providing crystal clear shots, accurate color representations, and a plethora of features; blowing away other manufacturer's technology. The MP3 player and independent dual external speakers plays beautiful stereo sound, extraordinarily improved than standard mono speakers, while 3G gaming outperforms former Java platforms, rendering impressive graphics comparable to consoles of the past. And finally the revolutionary VCAST broadcasting service, streaming high-quality video and television programs to handsets nationwide.'

Time magazine reviews the LG VX8000 and writes - 'This is a gadget review, so I might as well comment on the VX8000. It handles the videos and the games surprisingly well, and both spoken word and music come through its single speaker clearly. I wish it had Bluetooth capability for a wireless headset in the car (something I have trouble living without), and speaker-independent voice dialing for hands-free operation. The built-in 1.3-megapixel camera is a disappointment, too, though its video feature can be entertaining. Those high-tech gripes aside, it's as reliable as any older LG model. The only real trouble an average user might run into is a low battery, drained by constant download of unlimited video content. Buy a spare charging cable. Keep it at the office.'
