LG U830 Reviews

3G reviews the LG U830 and writes, "The camera has also been hiked from 1.3 megapixels to a more respectable two and despite occasionally suffering from over exposure, the photo quality is decent enough. Internal memory has been given a welcome boost, but LG has again neglected to include a memory card slot. The rise from 128MB to 180MB is encouraging, but this still limits the potential of the music player. 180MB won’t hold many tunes and don’t forget you will have to share this with other multimedia gubbins."

MobileChoice reviews the LG U830 and writes, "The camera has also been hiked from 1.3 megapixels to a more respectable two and despite occasionally suffering from over exposure, the photo quality is decent enough. ... Once 3’s HSDPA network is up and running the U830 can change gear for faster download times. But until then you’ll just have to make do with a very stylish 3G phone, despite LG disappointingly not moving on one iota from the KG810 in terms of design. "

Trusted Reviews has a review of the LG U830 and writes, "I have a few issues with the camera. Image quality is reasonable outdoors. The daffodils were shot on the sort of bright spring day that can cause real exposure problems for mobiles left on their manual setting, but here the definition is acceptable. The coloured dish, shot indoors under ordinary household lighting, is by contrast disappointing, being rather darker and less well defined than I’d have liked."

TechDigest reviews the LG U830 and gives it 3 stars out of 5: "Although there are complaints to be made, these are not so great as to tarnish the overall experience of the handset. It is definitely a bit more ‘blokey’ than the Chocolate, but still looks stylish enough, and where it counts – call quality, mobile internet functionality, etc – its performance is well up to the task and is an worthy improvement over its predecessor, the KG810."

CNET Australia has a review of the LG Chocolate U830 and writes, "In ordinary phone use, the U830 works surprisingly well. We say surprisingly as in our experience the learning curve for phones with flat keypads can be quite steep as you get used to the exact spacing of keys and the force needed for each key entry. The U830 performed well in this regard, because the tactile feedback of each key is quite marked. We wish we could say the same for the touch-sensitive music controls, which were extremely unresponsive in our tests. Speaker volume when using the external controls was quite solid, and certainly at a level where it's likely to annoy your fellow commuters if pumped out at full whack."
