Hospitals to ban camera phone use
'Hospital bosses across the Black Country are banning visitors from taking photographs without official permission amid fears the craze for mobile phone cameras is threatening people's privacy.
Health chiefs in Walsall and Dudley have taken similar new rules on board in a bid to keep pace with the trendy technology.
Walsall Teaching Primary Care Trust is the latest to adopt a policy on cameras in the borough's hospitals, as none was previously in place.
Now, no pictures can be taken of patients without their informed consent and visitors will have to tell the ward manager if they want to take photographs or video footage.
The ban does not only apply to mobile phones, but all cameras.'
