Helio Mysto Reviews

CNET reviews the Helio Mysto and writes, "The Mysto packs a 2-megapixel camera, which is quite a disappointing drop from the U600's 3.2-megapixel version. The photo quality was good, but not great--colors were good but a little washed out --and we would've liked the images to look a lot sharper. You can take photos in four different resolutions (1,600x1,200; 1,280x960; 640x480; and 320x240) and you can adjust the image quality, as well. Other camera options include brightness, white-balance settings, lighting, color effects, photo frames, a self-timer, and up to 6x zoom. The built-in camcorder has similar settings, but the video is limited to 320x240 and 176x144 resolutions and two frame rates (14fps and 7fps). As a result, video quality was very jittery and choppy, especially when there's a lot of movement, and images looked pixilated, too."

Mobile Burn reviews the Helio Mysto and writes, "The 2 megapixel camera on the Mysto is activated by sliding the phone open and either pressing the camera key on the right side of the device, or navigating to the camera menu. The resulting photos are very nice, and the camera application interface is robust, again with a large number of user options for fine-tuning the photo. The camera also records video clips with acceptable quality, and these clips can be set as the background for the home screen, if desired."

Digital Trends reviews the Helio Mysto and writes, "Snap is the camera function, and its 2 Megapixel power is fine, especially with the flash included on the back. Snap can also be accessed quickly using the camera button on the right side. The visuals are slightly above average, and the Mysto will automatically assume you want to send it to someone after its taken – by default a digital mailing screen will pop up for easy email attaching or uploading to a Flickr website account."

PC World reviews the Helio Mysto and writes, "For music, the Mysto comes with a loud but thin-sounding speaker, earbuds, a microSD slot that's buried in the battery compartment (along with 106MB internal memory), and stereo Bluetooth. The basic but functional MP3 player lets you create playlists, and you can bring your own tunes or buy them over the air for $2. The 2-megapixel camera snaps decent-looking pictures, though they exhibit some graininess and the colors look muted (our black cat seemed rather brownish). You have to slide the phone open to expose the camera lens and self-portrait mirror, which is rather annoying."
