E-TEN X500 glofiish Reviews

PocketNow reviews the E-TEN X500 glofiish and has this to say about the phone's camera: "Overall, I think the added functionality of the camera was overkill. The device became very laggy when I tried to adjust various settings. Cameras on mobile devices should be simple and quick - I want to be able to pull out my phone quickly, snap a quality photo without any fanfare, and that's it. ... But in terms of picture quality, I was actually impressed."

MobileTechReview reviews the E-TEN Glofiish X500 and writes, "2 megapixels is a lot by PDA phone standards. Unfortunately, lots of pixels doesn't guarantee image quality. Image processing software in the device and lens quality are two factors that effect image quality greatly and one or both are lacking on the Glofiish X500. Photos are noisy and lacking in color. The camera can take still photos in JPEG and BMP format at 1600 x 1200, 1280 x 960, 640 x 480, 320 x 240 and 176 x 144 resolutions. It can shoot video in 3GP format at 320 x 240, 176 x 144 and 128 x 96 resolutions at an average of 4.5fps in normal quality mode at 176 x 144 resolution. Videos tend to be blocky and audio is just OK at 8Hz mono. The camera has 4x digital zoom and an LED flash that helps a tiny bit when taking photos at close range."

CNET Asia reviews the E-Ten glofiish X500 and writes, "There's a 2-megapixel camera with its own minute LED flash and a small self-portrait mirror. When you press the camera side button the screen becomes a viewfinder and around the edges of the screen, framing your shot as you line it up, is a series of large icons you can tap to alter settings. Making quick alterations to things like image size, color effects and use of the self-timer is therefore very easy."

IT Reviews reviews the E-TEN Glofiish X500 and writes, "The looks are striking, with slate grey being the prominent colour and a rather nice rounded/rectangular look to the overall design. The Wi-Fi is accompanied by Bluetooth and the GSM support is Quad-band, so this is a pretty capable device as far as its connections are concerned. ... Among the other software extras are; utilities for toying with images taken with the built-in, 2-megapixel camera; profile switcher for easily choosing a phone profile; call filtering application with block and allow lists; voice control and a Pocket PC Today Screen replacement that uses tabbed screens of icons to help you get around the device's contents."
