BlackBerry Curve 8310 Reviews
Pocket-lint reviews the BlackBerry Curve 8310 and writes, "A quick scan over the spec sheet reveals the same tech as the 8300. For your money, this smartphone will give you quad-band connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, a microSD card slot (not hot swappable), 2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphones jack, multimedia software from Roxio, and of course the push email system that BlackBerry is so famous for...However, as a BlackBerry, the 8310 is great stuff offering virtually all the functionality of the 8800 but in a smaller package plus the inclusion of a digital camera."
CNET reviews the BlackBerry Curve 8310 and writes, "One-upping the BlackBerry Pearl, the Curve boasts a 2-megapixel camera (vs. 1.3 megapixels) with a 5x zoom and a built-in flash, but unfortunately, still no video-recording capabilities. You do get three picture sizes (1,600x1,200; 1,024x768; and 640x480) and three quality options (superfine, fine, and normal). You can also tweak the white balance and add color effects. Picture quality was decent. Images were sharp, and though we wish the colors were a bit brighter, the quality was better than a number of other camera-equipped smartphones we've tested recently."
PC Mag reviews the BlackBerry Curve 8310 and writes, "Its 2-megapixel camera and built-in LED flash combine to take surprisingly usable, if somewhat soft, pictures, even indoors with low light. The 8310, like the 8300, still doesn't record video...The 8310's 2-megapixel camera is also a good reason to skip the BlackBerry 8800, especially now that the 8310 includes GPS, the 8800's original draw
CNET Australia reviews the BlackBerry Curve 8310 and writes, "There's a 2-megapixel camera on the back for capturing stills, which can be sent swiftly off to an e-mail address or another phone via SMS, accompanied by a reasonably bright LED flash and tiny mirror for self portraits."
CNET UK reviews the BlackBerry Curve 8310 and writes, "The BlackBerry devices aimed at business users go without cameras, probably because of fears about corporate security, but as this one is aimed at Average Joes, you'll find a 2-megapixel snapper on the rear. It has a micro mirror for taking self portraits and one of the brightest LED photo lights we've ever used, so you'll be able to take snaps in dimly lit conditions without them looking like they were shot in a coal mine. Naturally the amount of definition in the images is somewhat limited by the 2-megapixel resolution, but to its credit the shots do have strong, natural-looking colours."
