Nice work dude. Maybe I need to hire you as a consultant. Is it in the hardcopy paper as well or just online?

I feel honoured to know that I was reading your blog long before you became a famous poster boy for blogging. :)

Congratulations on the article.

Rodney Olsen » 15 July, 2005 11:06 AM

AAArrrgghhh you're famous!! I should have got your autograph hhehehehehehe.

Maryam » 15 July, 2005 11:25 AM

SMH is really scraping the bottom of the barrel here IMO. You'll take offense - but this is not aimed at you or your blog. Its just so ho hum - I mean it is hardly news, there are hundreds of Australian's doing this type of thing, and thousands around the world.

I won't go on. 'nough said.

I am Jeebus and from this day forth I say get off your computer, spreading this jibber jabber blog about your self-endulgent life, and go do something positive in the community.

You seem like you have good intentions, go do them instead of getting stuck in these details...

Jeebus » 15 July, 2005 12:55 PM

thanks for the comments everyone.

Scared Person - I'm not sure that anyone claimed what I was doing is unique. Yes many people earn a living the way I do - from time to time some of them get profiled for doing it.

I'm not claiming I am the only one and I dont think the author of the article did either.

Jeebus - I'm not quite sure how to take your comment. I believe that I do positive things for my community - I perhaps could do more but I suspect we all could. A guy needs to make a living though - mine happens to be through jibber jabber I guess.

Darren » 15 July, 2005 3:04 PM

Jeebus - pot kettle black. Get off your computer and stop spreading YOUR jibber jabber comments! The community awaits your kind words!

Luke » 15 July, 2005 3:16 PM

I agree with Luke. Jeebus, Darren is doing some fantastic things in the community of LivingRoom, as well as contributing to the blogosphere.

Good on you Darren for the nice work! So proud of you mate!

Kitty » 15 July, 2005 4:32 PM

Great stuff Darren - a good piece and well deserved.

Dave » 15 July, 2005 6:02 PM

Well done darren, good to see people being creative and making a difference both locally and globally, it inspires me to think outside the square...

Barro » 16 July, 2005 12:18 AM

As they say, the idea doesn't have to be big. It just has to change the world ;-)

First you make headlines on the virtual 'Blog Herald' and now your ideas are heralded on the ageless trees in Sydney and Melbourne ...

You are the best antipodean Ambassador ... I hope John Howard is reading your story!

Jozef Imrich » 16 July, 2005 2:34 PM

Why is it that comments like that of "Jeebus" are always anonymous?

Good to meet you in London the other week Darren... much inspiration was gained! As for the media thing... bit of a whirlwind when they get an inkling of a story isn't it!? The National media have just got hold of my new project... before it has even begun! One reporter told me that the media are like a plague of locusts... they arrive out of nowhere strip you bare of all interesting copy then swarm off to the next meal!

Mark Berry » 16 July, 2005 10:20 PM

I think that Jeebus' comments say more about himself then anyone else. Congrats Darren but remember that when papers like The Age start covering it you know that it is mainstream and starting to date! Enjoy your 15 mins!

"There is nothing of the nerd or the geek in Rowse."

I wouldn't have beleived it if I hadn't read it in the paper ;)

Nigel Mann » 18 July, 2005 4:00 PM

Well, there you go. Editors Nathan and Rob must have taken my comments at the X facta on board. Now, if we can just come to some arrangement on a commission percentage . . . ;-)

kel » 18 July, 2005 7:53 PM

Congratulations on the coverage! Go for it...

Keith De La Rue » 19 July, 2005 6:01 PM

You da man Darren. Well done my friend. I for one am very proud of you!

alan hirsch » 22 July, 2005 6:33 PM

Heh heh heh!
Nothing of the geek or the nerd in Rowse!
Maybe not anymore! But take the clock back a little...
Ok I'll stop before your bedazzling rep is tainted! ;)
On ya Daz!
Age
(Darren's little brother who knows the real level of geekity and nerdom in Rowse!)

Age » 25 July, 2005 6:23 PM

Great stuff Darren...it was fun to read about you in the press

Garth » 29 July, 2005 11:04 AM
