Here are the nominated Underbloggers starting with letters D to H
Wow - what a response we've had to the Celebrating the Underblogger 2004 project. For those of you who don't know about it yet, last night I invited blog readers and owners to nominate quality blogs that deserved more attention than they get. 12 hours later over 260 blog have already been nominated - eclipsing last year's 100 Underbloggers. This was largely due to one big link up and the ensuing generous links from many other bloggers. Thanks to all who have nominated and linked up so far - it is not too late to participate - nominate your favorite under bloggers here.
(If you are an underblogger you might be interested in these Blog Tips)
Due to the large response I will be breaking down the nominated Underbloggers into alphabetical sections - here are Underbloggers starting with the letters D to H.

The key now is to do some surfing of some of these quality blogs. This project is useless unless we check out some of these bloggers and link up to them ourselves. Lets help some of these underbloggers to get the attention they deserve.
All care has been given to getting above details correct, however due to large numbers of bloggers nominated I have not been able to quality control links yet and have relied on the code submitted by nominators. I'm doing my best to get it right but feel free to email me with corrections.

What do you consider underrated? I've seen Captain's Quarters, the Belmont Club, and One Hand Clapping recommended. Considering that all of these get regular links from Instapundit, I'd hardly call them underrated. One Hand Clapping just put up a post saying he got 116,000 unique visitors in June, and Captain's Quarters has a daily visitor average of 4000 according to Sitemeter. These are blogs where I'm thrilled if they link to me.
So, I'll list a few which I think really are underrated:
Letters from Babylon -- Christian Grad students who discuss theology and science, among other topics.
Doc Rampage -- While not the most prolific blogger, his posts are always insightful and entertaining.
La Shawn Barber's Corner -- La Shawn probably gets some pretty good traffic--but she doesn't get as much as she deserves.
Back of the Envelope -- Okay, I really shouldn't include myself, but a little self-promotion won't kill me. I discuss science, politics, religion, and webcomics, as well as the intersection between them.

I recommend Down to the Piraeus or http://www.piraeus.us/blog/
It is run by a DC newsman with a philosophical bent. The posters are a thoughtful band of smart plugged-in guys.
Also the Greater Nomadic Council. a more left-center blog with alot of zany posts as well.

Thanks to the erudite and intelligent reader who nominated me! Should I move to Australia? How are snakes treated there?
I would have nominated blogs if I had been aware of this before. Next year...

I recommend
Ex Nihilo johncoleman.typepad.com . John always manages to highlight the best stories of the day with some of the most insightful comments that reveal a deep understanding of people and our systems that guide us, be they governments or value sets. Called by Joe Carter of Evangelical Outpost as one of the most insightful and brilliant young Christian minds of our times, John deserves greater recognition in the blogosphere and beyond.
