I don't think the eye popping colours is a problem. I can still read your text, which is more than I can say about those who use eye popping colours as background to their text. A splash of colour around the edges never hurt anyone.

Normally I'd have an issue with magenta and orange in the same place, but you made it look good Darren! Just promise me you won't add lime to the palette...
