This morning V and I woke up to a very unusual sound. It was raining! After months...no years of very little rain today has been the first day that I can remember for quite some time where it has barely stopped raining! People all around our state are rejoicing because this is the first step towards ending one of the worst droughts this country has ever seen. It also is a step towards putting out the fires that continue to burn in the North East of our state. So far these fires have burnt uncontrollably for over 40 days and have destroyed over 1,000,000 hectares of bushland.
The only downside to this rain is that tomorrow I'm marrying a young couple in a garden wedding! Not sure how it will work, but we'll get there!

What a blessing from God then. Course, there can actually be too much of a good thing. In Austin, TX right now we are experiencing lots of flooding due to excessive rains.
May God bless all that you do today, and bless the wedding of the two you are helping to marry.

I've just been watching some birds in the backyard which are standing in the rain and apparently totally enjoying it.

I'm so glad to hear you finally have rain. 40 days without any...must feel so good.
Now, if it would just stop snowing here for a bit.
We have about 3 feet of the fluffy stuff.

Yes - and what are those things that people carry for shelter called again! I just took the dogs up to the parched park and everything seemed buzzing with that spirit of renewal, relief, rejoicing.
