This is an interesting article on how Paganism and Wicca are two of the fastest growing groups here in Australia (especially in Melbourne). Interesting stuff.

Heh - I read that as plagiarism being one of the fastest growing groups in Melbourne. That'd be funny.

I blame Harry Potter. For everything. Witchcraft and bad writing...

I remember back in college, I was actually considering embracing Wicca as my religion. A theology class changed that and I have embraced my Catholic faith once again. I have no qualms or judgments on people who believe in a different religion that I do. It's their choice. I can't force them to think otherwise. All I wish is that they do not use it to harm and offend people deliberately.

I'm not surprised. It fits very well with post-modernism. I have friends who are self-identified pagans, embracing various pantheons and belief structures. One is involved with Norse paganism. Does he truly believe Thor exists? No. But like so much within our post-modern thinking, he can pick and choose what he likes from the overarching philosophies related to the writings about the Norse gods.
