Myers Briggs Personality Test Resources

A number of people (both from LivingRoom and the blog) have asked me in the last few days where they can find information on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI ) personality testing. I've decided to make a bit of a resource page here including free online tests, resources to help unpack the test results and some fun personality test links. I hope they help - feel free to leave you own suggested resource in comments to improve this collection. Please note that the tests and resource here are not officially MBTI but are adaptations that of the original work done by Myers Briggs.

Free Online Myers Briggs Personality Tests

• Humanmetrics - a 72 question Jung Typology Test
• Temperament Sorter II - a comprehensive assessment. NB it only gives you half your results unless you're willing to pay for an upgrade!
• Bloginality - a personality test for bloggers
• Type Quiz - a very basic 4 question test
• Similar Minds - a 53 question test.
• Personality Pathways - another 4 question test with a lot of useful information - very simple

Other Myers Briggs Resources

• Personality Page - We found this very helpful - it includes a 60 question Test/Questionnaire, Portraits of the 16 types, Common Careers for each type, information on how it relates to relationships (including marriage, friendships etc), suggestions on areas for personal growth for each type and a personality test for kids
• Keirsey - this is an online version of a 48 page booklet that makes up the appendix of a great book on the topic called Please Understand Me. It describes very well the 16 types. I found this one very helpful.
• GSU Master Teacher Program: On Learning Styles - discusses briefly the four dimensions underlying the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), and several teaching approaches that will appeal to different MBTI profiles.
