Experiencing God

30 July, 2003 7:33 AM

Last night at Living Room I personally found myself very aware of Gods presence - more so than I've found previously at group. We prayed for one another and I found myself visualising other group members in their missional contexts - it was very powerful for me to know that each of them are so loved by God and are making a difference in their own places of work, rest, study, play and life. Very cool.

It sounds like you were doing some sort of New Age type visualization techniques and not praying! What is the point of visualizing someone somewhere? Why wouldn't you pray that God would help them convert people, you sound like you are playing games and not leading a church.

Welcome back Greg, you haven't been around much lately.

Just a thought, Greg....it sounds like you have very strong opinions on almost everything discussed here. You seem to disagree with everything. And that is your right. However, I'm not sure how much good you're doing in this context.

Instead of posting the occasional hit-and-run comment here, without leaving so much as an email address...why don't you start a blog of your own? That way you could articulate better the things you believe in, make it easier for those who want to hear what you have to say to find you...and let us here enjoy our conversation as well.

It's not hard to get started...you can take out a free subscription at http://www.blogspot.com anytime you want and start writing immediately. It's a much better option than what you're doing now.

And if you don't do that...don't you think it would be only fair to at least leave an email address where people could discuss these issues with you, rather than dragging the public comments section through this over and over?

Just some thoughts...

(scroll through the comments to find it)

absolutely hilarious!

it's good to know that despite the fact that all of us, or most of us anyway, are adults who have the sense and discernment to tell truth from BS, there are people who are watching out for our well-being. how nice is that!

Greg left the same comment at our site (www.thinklings.org) in a post "promoting" Living Room, as well. I have no idea what he's finding unbiblical and "lefty" -- the emerging church is certainly different and in some ways radical, but it seems pretty biblical to me.

We Thinklings have our own set of self-appointed spiritual watchdogs drop in from time to time to let us know watching certain movies is a sin or even that Jesus would not hang out with sinners(!).
I get tired of them very quickly . . .
