For Blogger Idol - Instead of News Years Resolutions this year I thought I'd post some quotes of one of my heros - Albert Einstein. Hopefully this year I'll learn to live some of these things rather than just quoting them:
Insanity is defined as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."
"If A equals success, then the formula is: A=X+Y+Z. X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut."
"I have no particular talent. I am merely inquisitive."
"It's not that I'm so smart , it's just that I stay with problems longer ."
"Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
"The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education."
"I want to know God's thoughts,..... the rest are details.."
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity."
"Nothing truly valuable arises from ambition or from a mere sense of duty; it stems rather from love and devotion toward men and toward objective things."
"True religion is real living; living with all one's soul, with all one's goodness and

This past week's topic for Blogger Idol has been 'Travel' so I thought I'd post a few photos from my trip to Morocco a year a half an ago. They were taken in the city of Fes. You can click on each on to enlarge them. We now have prints of most of these on our kitchen wall and remember our time in Morocco each day. Hope you enjoy them too.

Round 2 of Blogger Idol was on the topic of ‘First Dates’ - my top 5 (in no particular order) for this week are:
- Red Interior - a list of 'first dates' from history and from his own life - especially good because he mentioned Carlton's first VFL premiership.
- The Stokes Family Blog - T-Bag tells of finding out her son's got his first girlfriend - cute
- Ian's Messy Desk - posts what could be the first date
- Tuneouttv Braindownload - I'm a sucker for a good definition - this is a great one
- She is Leaving.... : waiting.... - Jesslin (who seems to be really getting into blogger idol - I see her commenting on loads of other entries) has a good post about her 'friend-to-boyfriend' alternate to dating.
Of course these are just 5 of 20 or so entries this week - there are heaps of other worthy contenders but these are my five favorites - which are yours?

Readers who have been coming to this blog for over 6 months will remember the Blogger Idol project I ran from this blog for the first 6 months of this year. It was a fun way of connect bloggers together to all write on a common theme each week. Over 150 bloggers signed up for weekly emails with a suggested theme. It took a bit of energy and time for me to run it but it was well worth it as I met some great new bloggers from around the globe.
We took a break from the project a few months back but have decided to get it going again as of today. This time it will all run on its own domain/blog so as not to dominate this one. If you're interested in joining the project head over to Blogger Idol and join in on week 1's topic of 'All I want for Christmas....'
You can also submit a topic for future weeks and sign up for the weekly emails announcing new themes.

Welcome to the 17th round of Blogger Idol - I'm sorry for the delay in getting the topic out and for the issues in posting your entries on this blog last round - I've been having some server issues which now are resolved.
The Theme this round is 'The Rhythm of Life...'
Thanks to the anonymous person who suggested it this week. Remember you can suggest a topic for future weeks here.
Take the topic in whatever way you want. Describe your daily rhythm and patterns of life (or lack of them), talk about your favorite song with a cool rhythm, rewrite the lyrics of the actual song 'The Rhythm of Life' - whatever you like.
Anyone with a blog can enter this round by following the simple steps outlined below - remember unlike the TV Idol shows this is not a competition.
