I am new to the internet and I am surfing here and this is so neat. I did a search in the search engines on "a professional blog" and I found your web blog.
I am a chartered accountant in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and thus my interest in searching for "a professional blog" on the WWW.
I just wanted to see how the rest of the world thinks and see what trends and technology are happening in the world. I also was interested in a blog for myself, that is if I figured I could handle the technology of operating a blog. The different things discussed on a website found by searching for "professional blog" in the search engine is very amusing reading.
Respectly yours

There's no money in blog design. Well, not no money. But very little. Free templates abound. Publishing systems like WordPress or MoveableType have plenty of people who will make "skins" to go with their CSS tags and allow anyone to use them. Then people write tutorials on how to customize those skins. HTML books, PHP books, CSS books, and plenty of online tutorials and help forums abound. If you take things step by step, it's really not too hard to learn.
I just can't see any one person being willing to pay a lot for a blog design. Perhaps companies, yes, with more money to spend than time. But people? Rarely.

Well I've seen a lot of bland looking blog sites out there and I'm glad there are resources like yours to help'm out. My site took a long time to put together but the end result is pretty sweet. I'd be happy to help others if I could get a link back to my site.
Cheers!

I design blogs. It's true. But I don't charge because really, who would pay money for a blog design when they or a friend could come up with just a little elbow grease? Most of the blogs I've done are hosted at http://decablog.com
p.s. my site isn't normally orange (welcome to Halloweek).
