I don't rewrite or delete but I edit. I'm such a perfectionist sometimes...

I tried to start a discussion on this once! I was calling it "Blogiquette" (http://www.sense-datum.org/tim/archives/000041.html)... I'm glad someone actually took it to another level.

I wonder if these ethical guidelines sound more like I'm publishing a book or an article. I don't look at my blogging this way. I look at it as public journaling and conversation. I think we should be honest and say what we mean, of course. Interesting.

If you delete one mistakingly-posted duplicate, you are still leaving the oringinal content. So, I think that is ok.

Personally, I think deleting entire posts is ok. If you leave a post, though, deleting information from within that particular post is wrong. Simple tags will cross out what you want to change and allow you to add new information. Also, I would suggest that if anyone changes the content of a post, they should date the change (not the post!).

I usually post corrections in italics.

Darren, I hope you don't mind, but I reposted (sort of) your post here at BlogWiki (http://www.theconnexion.net/cgi-bin/blogwiki.pl).

Thanks!
