Just watched video hits and was apalled at how they made him wear that white suit. Were they trying to make him look like an angel? Coz angels don't need white clothes to make them into one. Guy has his own unique taste and style. And that's what we love about him. Imagine if Shannon were to wear the same clothes. He'd look like he just stepped off Strictly Ballroom! Was a little disappointed with the filmclip, but understandable as they had limited time. Would have been better to just see him singing live on grand final. Nevertheless, his beautiful voice uplifted the filmclip and it was exciting to see our very own Guy amongst all the famous. I really hope that BMG won't restrict Guy's own style that we love him for, but rather nurture and enhance it. I want to see Guy strut his stuff his own way, like he did when he sang "When the doves cry".

And...who that girl was on the filmclip?

I'm sorry its not up to your liking 'Basil' - this site is a hobby of mine. So far I've written 800 or so articles on it - Australian Idol only about 1.5% of those articles. I've never pretended that this is a comprehensive site. If you're after something more exciting or perfect there are heaps of other sites out there which I'm sure will be up to scratch. Or perhaps you could start your own.

As this is just a hobby I don't spend too many hours in the day updating it - hence I've been a bit slow to fix those lyrics. They are changed now - I hope they are right.

Sorry guys - I've had a lot of negative feedback today from this site, mainly via email. All of it is regarding the 10 or so Aussie Idol posts I've written - I'm considering pulling them off the web altogether. I think Guy is the coolest guy ever. I have like fallen totally in love with him. Every one judges him because of his fro but i think his fro is cute. He is sooo kind, i would do anything just to go up and start talking to him and maybe even hug him.

Hey fella's, well it looks like Australia has finally done something right for a change...ha ha. But yeah, seriously - i think that the world has been truly blessed by Guy Sebastians voice. I would personally compare him to a few of my old school favs like ( Stevie Wonder - Brian McKnight - Lionel Richie and so many more ) Guys talent is one that i am so sure will take out the world idol comp. I only wish i could meet the dude and thank him for his Angelique vocals. I did feel for him though at the finals, the poor dudes voice was so tired and on the edge of breaking and those dicks that made him go into a studio only two days later shouldve known better. No matter how good a person can sing, if they push themselves too hard and for too long they can eventually damage their voice. All siad and done ( Guy....you are truly amazing and it been a pleasure

NZ here...and have to say that probebly 95% of New Zealand was behind Guy as well....what a blessed voice he has and such a beautiful manner with him huh?
I just wonder if any of you huge Guy fans knew he is involved with Planet Shakers?....It is hard out, awesome comtemporary christian music, and there are quite a few CDs out....and Guys voice is just as wonderful on these Cds than on aussie idol....

Australia has voted for Guy to represent us in the World Idol. Wishing that things could be different isn't going to change anything! And bagging Guy out isn't going to do much good either. So let's be happy that Guy's representing us in the World Idol. After all, he isn't that bad is he?? He looks cute, he sings pretty well, and he moves around ok, right?

And please think long and hard before you say that Guy isn't a "true Aussie but Shannon is". Technically speaking, the only true Aussies are the Indigenous Australians! But AI isn't about finding a "true Aussie" talent - it is about finding an Aussie talent who will go out there and represent Australia. Incase you have forgotten, Australia is a multicultural country - anyone who is Australian-born, or have become Australian citizens are Australian! I think the price of guy's CD is too expensive (for 2 songs only). I think I will just download from the http://www.mp3.com/ and kazaa.com and burn it into CD. It is only worthwhile if guy reach to the world idol and become the winner and then release more albums. I think the minimun no of songs should be 6. 2 is too little.

It was a gramatical mistake and has different meaning. It should have been come instead of came and "ve finally found you because in the song he has finally found his soulmate. Another it should be an angel cos it is a personal relationship rather than connections with the audiences (angels). However as those grammatical erros bring a positive in making connections with the audiences, thinking they were the angels, thus making them one with the song.

U in this lyric is the personafication of "GOD& the person" he has found his soulmate with.

I think Guy did a pretty good job on Rove on tuesday night, but I can hear that he has missed some of the notes at the end. It's not a big deal. It's understandable, coz' he only has 3 hours sleep each day, which is awful to me. He need to keep up his voice at the same time which is pretty impossible. He looks so tired on TV that night. I wish he can get much more sleep!!! If his lose his voice, that will be pretty much the end of the world!!

Hope he will do well in World Idol!!!

That song is truly appalling, sounds like the sort of mash you would hear on MIX 106.5. It was apparent from the first synthesised note that the producers of this song would not be taking any "risks" an attempting to make a good contemporary song ala kelly clarksons "miss independent".
Perhaps if they were not so concerned about everyone forgetting about Australian idol they might have been able to put the time in and make a truly good single. I suspect that when the album comes out, it will be similiarly rushed, middle of the road and unlistenable.

I love Shannon & i think he should have won, his version of "Angels brought me here" is much betta. Dont get me wrong Guy doesnt sing it that bad i just prefer Shannon. They both have great voices, i personally think that Shannon would have been the next Jimmy Barnes, & he sang Working Class Man so well! Hope he relises a single soon. Shannon looked so hot on the final of Aussie Idol in his suite!! Keep up da work L8r

Hi gang,
i agree with the site owner, it's just a tv show. I love Guy's voice but there are quite honestly a fair number of people in the music industry right now with that style of voice. I guess thats why he was voted in by all the lil 12-18 year olds.
I do like the song they picked and thought both versions were top rate. There are going to be many many weddings with that things as the bridal waltz/cutting of the cake, etc. I prefered Shannon coz he was a lad, a real voice of uniqueness and power. I actually wish Stu had of won. He had sheer charisma. When he answered Dicko's crit of 'you sound too much like Tom Jones', with ' Tom Jones sounds too much like Stuey' , that kicked. That's what an idol should exude. A true Idol like a Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Freddie Mercury, Robbie Williams. These are people who I would consider idols. Both Guy and Shannon are very very talented vocally and hopefully both will develop that aura that will see them succeeding long after the shows profile drops. But with a new aus idol series next year I'm sure their profile and guest appearances will be on top for the time being. Hope Stu gets a look in. Any way, enough rambling. well, i love both Guy and Shannon .They are both great talents and Australia should be proud of them. Shannon especially sings very very well with rock songs because he has such a great voice for this kind of music. I love it so much when he sang " Please forgive me" ,
Guy also has a great voice , and his voice is especially warm when he performs pop songs. And i have to say that i am really really touched by his voice when he preformed " Angles brought me here" in the Grand final AI.I belive this song will soon be a great hit all over the world

All throughout the competition I knew that Guy would make it. Right from the start he has shown he had what it took. His got a great voice and am glad that he won.

I my gosh, could u just absloutely be the bomb, this song is just the mantis, so i hear that the man himself mite be comming to christchurch with a mate, so im hoping, dont know its not known yet, but i say go hard and give it ur all. Your da mantis and that voice is just to die for, hopefully our new zealand idol is as good as Guy Sabastian, and handsome as him as well. Keep up the faith, and stay strong for the Lord, he will continue to bless you with the talent that you already have from him, and hopefully if its the Lords plans that u come to nz then let it be.

It's not just that's he's good at singing and dancing, but he even writes songs and makes new arrangements. That is a skill.
I believe that God was with him throughout the whole thing.
And i saw a comment above which said something bout Guy not being an Aussie. U should b ashamed of urself. That just sounded like a racist comment. But anywho...
i went to planet shakers last year and guy was there... only i didn't really take notice of him.
and then i saw him on aussie idol and thought he looked familiar so i asked my friend and sure enough it was him.
