Albert Einstein's Resolutions

3 January, 2005 10:03 AM

For Blogger Idol - Instead of News Years Resolutions this year I thought I'd post some quotes of one of my heros - Albert Einstein. Hopefully this year I'll learn to live some of these things rather than just quoting them:

Insanity is defined as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

"If A equals success, then the formula is: A=X+Y+Z. X is work. Y is play. Z is keep your mouth shut."

"I have no particular talent. I am merely inquisitive."

"It's not that I'm so smart , it's just that I stay with problems longer ."

"Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

"The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education."

"I want to know God's thoughts,..... the rest are details.."

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity."

"Nothing truly valuable arises from ambition or from a mere sense of duty; it stems rather from love and devotion toward men and toward objective things."

"True religion is real living; living with all one's soul, with all one's goodness and
righteousness."
